The Gospel According to Jonah

Contrary to popular belief, the story of Jonah is not primarily about a man being swallowed by a fish...it is so much more!  The book of Jonah is the gospel in story form and believers must be confronted by the truth of the gospel every day.  Tim Keller wrote "The gospel isn't the ABC's of Christianity, but the A-through-Z.  The gospel doesn't just ignite the Christian life; it's the fuel that keeps Christians going every day."  The lost need the gospel to bring them into a relationship with Christ.  The saved need daily doses of the gospel so we understand who God is, who we are in light of Him and what we have through His Son.

As you will see, the story of Jonah is a story of sin and grace, of desperation and deliverance.  It is a story that reveals that God is a great Savior who relentlessly pursues sinners.  It is a story that tells us our sin is great, but God's grace is greater.  It's a story that should be studied by believers because it reveals much about us and so much about our God.

I pray you will visit this page every week and join us as we discover the gospel according to Jonah.
